Hiking to Moraine Lake in Banff Canada is less than a quarter mile round trip to be exact, it is an extremely short walk up to the viewpoint. I feel that this short walk can be enjoyed by anyone.
Moraine Lake is one of the most interestingly blue lakes I have had the pleasure of visiting.

The Trail Start to Moraine Lake

Starting the trail to Moraine Lake is an easy start, paved, and flat. It doesn’t take away from any of the beauty though.
There is beautiful fence work lining the beginning of the trail, and you are quickly surrounded by towering green pines.

After a short stroll on the trail you will come to a cool wooden bridge crossing a creek. When I was visiting the water was running well, and the sounds and views were incredible, as well as the small amount of mist in the air.
Moving up trail

When you cross the bridge, the trail ascends up a staircase made of rocks. there are some signs along the way you can read about the area on your way up to the viewpoint.

Arriving near the top of the lookout spot, be sure to look back toward the parking lot. There’s a range of mountains that are spectacular to look at. In the photo above you can sightly see the parking area.

Moraine Lake in Banff, Canada is Epic!
Look at how stoked I am. This place just creates a sense of adventure, happiness, and smiles. You can ride that high for days to weeks afterwards!
The blueness of Moraine Lake is different than all the other lakes we visited while in Banff National Park. Each one has an amazing shade of blue to it, you can see the different shades on my other blog post for the top lakes to see in Banff.
